Doc Riley was named for our veterinarian, Dr. Laura Riley,  who assisted us with the births and all vet work on the farm.  Doc is a tall male, now standing over 40" at the shoulder.  His fiber is very fine at 20.2 microns with a beautiful shining copper color.  His locks are very consistent across his body, including his topknot, with excellent coverage of his narrow locks.  His coloring offers interesting cria possibilities as evidenced by his gray face, white stripe across his brow, and almost black feet.  Doc has excellent conformation sporting a fine typey head and small muzzle.  Doc has demonstrated his color production capabilities by producing appaloosas, fawn/gray/white pintos, solid fawns, and white.  Doc's first crias are WRSR Peruvian Carmello (fawn and white) born June 17, 2001, and WRSR Peruvian Lullaby (dark fawn) born November 4, 2001.   Another exciting cria, WRSR Peruvian Spirit,  is an appaloosa that is white with small fawn spots!

One of Doc's best traits is his very upright stance and straight topline.  We have used him with females that have a more lazy or relaxed posture to produce upright, showy crias.

His dam is 4Peruvian Tesora de Marfil (Accoyo), a white Suri with superior density and coverage, and her micron count is only 16.2!  She is one of our largest alpacas on the ranch at a height of 39" at the shoulder.  She is well-conformed and balanced with good bone structure.

His sire is 4Peruvian Magnifico, a dark silver grey Suri valued at more than $250,000.  Magnifico is a large alpaca with density, excellent coverage, and good fiber.  He has produced a rainbow of colors and color patterns or fancies like appaloosas, pintos, etc.  in his offspring.  That's why we think Doc has great possibilities!
